The SEPA Community Champion Award recognizes individuals, groups or communities in Saskatchewan who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service in the field of emergency management. This includes preparedness, response, recovery, or mitigation efforts that have made a significant positive impact on their community. This award will be celebrated yearly at the SEPA Annual Conference and the recipient will receive a plaque, a certificate, as well as recognition on the SEPA website and social media platforms.
Eligibility
- Nominees may be individuals, organizations or entire communities
-Nominees must be based in Saskatchewan
-Eligible efforts may include:
- Leadership or innovation in emergency planning and preparedness
- Significant contributions during a disaster or emergency response
- Support in community recovery or relief efforts
- Advocacy, education, or initiatives that strengthen community resilience

Nomination Process
-Nominations may be submitted by anyone (community members, municipal officials, emergency professionals)
-Self nominations are not permitted
-Nominations must be submitted using the official nomination form
-Nomination period includes the yearly period January - December.
-Nominations to be submitted by March 30 of the following year.

Selection Process
-The SEPA Awards Committee will review all nominations
-Selection is based on impact, leadership and innovation demonstrated by the nominee
-One recipient is selected for the award and will be honored at the annual SEPA Conference
-The award may not be given if no suitable nominations are received
